ICARUS presented during the 7th International Workshop on Robotics for Risky Environment in Saint Petersburg, Russia

ICARUS partners participated in the 7th International Workshop on Robotics for Risky Environment. The event took place as part of the biannual St. Petersburg Innovation Forum. During the two-day event stakeholders from across the globe gathered to discuss new developments in the field of Extreme Robotics.

On day one, Geert de Cubber from the Royal Military Academy of Belgium  which coordinates the ICARUS project, gave a speech to the workshop attendees, presenting the achievements of the project and paving the way for potential collaborative work between the  ICARUS consortium and Russian stakeholders. Afterwards, Pawel Musialik, a software programmer from the Polish Institute of Mathematical Machines, presented the semantic reasoning tools developed in the framework of the project.

Day two was dedicated to technical development and Geert de Cubber gave another presentation, this time focussing on traversabillity analysis for off-road robots using time-of-flight 3D sensors.

The event was successful in enabling the Tiramisu partners to establish a basis for possible future joint tests in Moscow with Russian roboteers.
