ICARUS will participate to the Security Research Conference and to the CP EXPO 2014

The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry (DG ENTR) has invited the ICARUS project to participate in the 2014 Community Protection Expo (CP-EXPO) that will take place in Genoa from the 9th to the 11th of December, under the aegis of the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The aim of the event is to provide an up-to-date overview of the technologies, systems and solutions available for Civil Protection and to promote international debate and cooperation among stakeholders from the private and public sectors in the Security domain.

Following on from the success of previous Security Research Conferences (SRCs) organised in Germany (Security Conference, Essen), Spain (“HOMSEC 2013”) and France (MILIPOL 2013), the European Commission’s DG ENTR will organise the European Security Research Conference (SRC) 2014 within the framework of the CP Expo.

The SRC will be composed of five thematic sessions addressing the regional dimension of Security, Secure Societies, relevant EU legislation and initiatives, Maritime Security and the Security Industrial Policy Action Plan. The work of the ICARUS project will be presented in the framework, and high level representatives from the Italian national authorities as well as from the European Commission and other international organisations are expected to participate.
