IMM-IAIR and SpaceApps, partners in the ICARUS project, win third place in Eurathlon 2013 USAR and manipulation challenges

The EURATHLON 2013 Unmanned Ground Robot (UGV) competition took place from 23 to 27 September 2013 in Berchtesgaden, Germany.

Engineers, computer scientists and technicians from all over Europe were able to test their Robots in simulated real-life conditions during this event:
Five different scenarios were set up to showcase the capabilities of the robots in real situations and 14 teams participated.

ICARUS partners did not want to miss the chance to compete against some of the best robots in Europe, so two members of the consortium (IMM-IAIR and SpaceApps) entered the competition.
IMM-IAIR and SpaceApps were able to secure third place in the USAR and Manipulation challenges respectively, also receiving an award of one thousand Euros from the winners of the events as an acknowledgment of their potential.
